Meet Michael Ford
A lifelong resident of Toronto’s west end, Michael Ford is a dedicated and passionate community leader who as a member of the Ontario Progressive Conservative (PC) Party has represented the riding of York South – Weston and served as Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism since June 2022.
Prior to entering provincial politics, Michael was first elected to public office in 2014 as Toronto District School Board Trustee before being elected to represent Etobicoke North on Toronto City Council in 2016 and re-elected in 2018.
During his time at City Hall, Michael supported major transit project expansions, as well as investments that created well-paying jobs and fostered stronger, safer and more prosperous communities.
As Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism, Michael leverages his years of
experience as a school board trustee and city councillor. He remains committed to fostering a more equitable and inclusive Ontario through leadership of the government’s anti-racism, economic inclusion, and cultural heritage initiatives.
In his spare time, Michael is an avid outdoorsman, photography enthusiast, and a licensed pilot.
